  The Polymancer Game and Hobby Mentorship Program views the mentoring relationship between mentor and protégé as a partnership. Participation of both parties is voluntary, and thus the success of the exchange is dependent on the commitment of both the protégé and the mentor; a joint investment of time and effort is required in order to attain joint gains. Meetings between mentor and mentee are as flexible as the participants desire them to be: they can occur as often as desired, and range from casual Instant Messenger exchanges to formal online conference meetings. The Polymancer Game and Hobby Mentorship Program is not intended as a job placement service, but is offered as a tool for game designers seeking business, publishing, and marketing advice from successful and experienced game industry individuals. All those wishing to pursue game design are welcome in the program.
